LeEco Le S3 X626 Unbricking guide


This guide is based on this XDA post

Prerequisites

Preparations

  1. Download the original firmware
  2. Download the unbricking tools
  3. Unpack and install the drivers from MediaTek_Preloader_USB_VCOM_Drivers_Setup_Signed.zip

Flashing the firmware

Note: you might notice that the files say X620 instead of X626, but these are, in fact, the right files

  1. Unpack SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1628_X620.zip into any folder

  2. Unpack LeEco_x620_SP_Rom.androidbrick.7z into any folder

  3. Run SP_Flash_Tool_v5.1628_X620\flash_tool.exe and wait for it to open

  4. Press <Ctrl + Alt + s>. New fields should appear

  5. Input the right files into the fields (select by pressing the folder icon to the right of it):

  1. Make sure that the dropdown below these fields says "Download Only"

  2. Check that the "Location" column in the table below is filled in for every row

  3. Below that, deselect the checkboxes for "recovery" and "boot"

  4. Unplug the phone from the PC (do noting if it wasn’t plugged in before that)

  5. Press the "Download" button

  6. Plug the phone back in

  7. Wait for the flashing to start (it may take a few minutes)

  8. If you get "BROM ERROR: STATUS_COM_PORT_OPEN_FAIL (0x3F5)"

Flashing "boot" and “recovery”

  1. You should still be in SP Flash Tool

  2. Press <Ctrl + Alt + v>

  3. In the menu bar select "Window" > “Write Memory”

  4. Input the right files into the fields:

  1. Press "Write memory"
  2. If the process doesn’t start
  1. Repeat steps 4-6, but with different values:
  1. After that the phone should successfully boot, but with the screen orientation reversed
  2. You may now close SP Flash Tool as it will no longer be needed

Putting the phone into fastboot mode

  1. Hold down the power button until the phone powers off
  2. Hold down the "volume +" button
  3. Hold down the "power" button (without releasing “volume +”)
  4. The phone should now enter fastboot mode (in the middle of the screen there should be three grey gears)
  5. If unsuccessfull, repeat from step 1

Flashing stock ROM

  1. Unpack LeX626_Fastboot_5.9.023S.rar into any folder
  2. Press <Shift + Right Click> in the folder there you unpacked LeX626_Fastboot_5.9.023S.rar (that folder should contain fastboot.exe )
  3. Select "Open command prompt here"
  4. If it is not available
  1. Plug the phone into the computer
  2. Run fastboot oem unlock
  3. If stuck at "<waiting for devices>"
  1. Enter the following commands

  1. Run fastboot reboot

  2. Enjoy your unbricked LeEco Le S3 X626
